Day 1: Arrival in Kigali City

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, one of our trained drivers will gladly wait from outside to transfer you to the hotel. Meet and greet your tour guide/ driver and after a brief session, proceed to the hotel, check-in, freshen up and rest for 2 hours as you prepare for your city tour depending on your arrival time at the Airport. After resting, your driver will pick you up and embark on a Kigali city tour, stop over at the Kigali Genocide Memorial site, art and craft center which won’t take long, and later return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

After early morning breakfast, check out of the hotel and meet your driver who will transfer you to Volcanoes National Park which is 105.6km away from the hotel taking approximately 2 hours and 22 minutes, and embark on your journey to volcanoes national park. While at volcanoes national park, check in, rest, and later on prepare yourself for lunch at the hotel. After lunch, your guide, as well as driver, will pick you up to go for Birding which is normally done through the forest walk which will give you a chance to spot numerous bird species which inhabit Volcanoes National Park. Afterward return to the hotel to freshen up, have dinner, and overnight stay.

Day 3: Mountain Gorilla Trekking In Volcanoes National Park

After an early morning delicious meal, proceed to the park headquarters for a gorilla briefing. Since tracking these gentle giants is unpredictable and ranges from 2-8 hours, with packed lunch and all the necessary items, you will be guided by experienced park rangers and guides through the slopes of the Virunga Volcanoes on a guided trail because the location of gorillas depends on the temperature. Luckily the movement of gorillas is tracked by the park rangers a day before which eases the trek. Once you encounter one of the gorilla families, you are allowed to spend 1 hour and you are allowed to capture all the moments as well as assist in feeding the young ones. Coming face to face with the gorillas is the main aspiration of the entire safari. Head back to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Visit Gisenyi

Have your breakfast and depart from Gisenyi which is 67.8km taking approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. Gisenyi is a beautiful city on the northern shores of Lake Kivu. While in Gisenyi, you will go for a boat excursion on the crystal blue Lake known as Lake Kivu and after return to the hotel for lunch. After lunch, you can return to Lake Kivu beach and go birding as you enjoy the singing fishermen up to evening which is a fascinating experience enjoyed by many tourists while in Gisenyi. Retire to the hotel for an overnight and Dinner.

Day 5: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park

Wake up in the morning, have breakfast, and set off to Nyungwe National Park which is 200.9km taking approximately 4 hours and 30 minutes though, on your way, you will have some stopovers at the local markets, visit the botanical gardens, and cultural museum which is a great source of information on the cultural history of Rwanda. When you are about to reach your destination, you will have a stunning view of the unique landscapes and the amazing wooden houses surrounding Nyungwe Forest National Park. Check in, refresh, and have dinner.

Day 6: Chimpanzee Tracking in Nyungwe Forest National Park

Wake up very early in the morning and have breakfast because chimpanzee tracking starts around 04:30 in the morning, with your packed lunch proceed to headquarters for a briefing. You will be escorted by experienced park rangers during your adventure as you penetrate into the dense rainforest in search of the chimps. Once you encounter the chimpanzees, you have one hour to observe their social ways of life as you capture these moments and during this adventure, you will be able to spot other primates such as the golden monkeys. This marks the end of the unforgettable experience in the Heart of Africa. Head back to the hotel for dinner and night.

Day 7: Return to Kigali

Depending on the time of your scheduled flight. After breakfast, you will head back to Kigali city and have a stop at the Conversation Hall for some time before going to the Airport.
