Detailed Itinerary – 4 Days Queen Elizabeth Safari

Day 1: Kampala – Queen Elizabeth National Park

It’s 7 o’clock in the morning when your safari driver/guide picks you up from your Hotel, drive and proceeds on the safari to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Your driving will lead you through the Ankole savannah grasslands situated between the towns of Masaka and Mbarara and the main feature is settled farmland with the long-horned Ankole cattle. Stop for lunch on the way in Mbarara town.

You will get there in the afternoon and check-in at Mweya Safari Lodge (Luxury Accommodation), Ihamba Safari Lodge (Midrange Accommodation), or Pumba Safari Cottages (Budget Accommodation) for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Game drive and boat cruise

Do breakfast and head for a morning game drive for animals like elephants, buffaloes and antelopes and some predators- lions, leopards, hyenas etc. See different species of birds where over 500 species have been identified including Black-bee eaters, 11 different species of Kingfisher, several falcons, eagles, and raptors.

After lunch, ride on the boat on the Kazinga Channel where you will see a variety of game mostly marine animals. This waterway joins Lakes Edward and George and is filled with schools of hippos, buffaloes, with elephants at the banks and a wonderful diversity of birds. Because of the different habitats of the lakeshores and the broad Savannah, the variety seems endless. Catch a glimpse of water birds diving for fish, the Marabou stork, bee-eater, and cheeky bronze-tailed starling as well as the majestic crowned crane. Retire to your lodge for Dinner and Overnight.
